On‌ ‌October‌ ‌7th,‌ ‌2021‌ ‌the‌ ‌first‌ ‌Maywood Academy Cross-Country‌ ‌meet‌ ‌took‌ ‌place‌ ‌at‌ ‌Elysian‌ ‌Park‌ ‌where‌ ‌both‌ ‌jv‌ ‌and‌ ‌varsity‌ ‌boys‌ ‌and‌ ‌girls‌ ‌competed‌ ‌against‌ ‌Marquez‌ ‌High‌ ‌School.‌ ‌

A student from Marquez high school finished the race before the last runner from Maywood Academy, resulting in a loss for Maywood.

They have the next three races to look forward to, even if today’s race didn’t go as planned. 

“It was cool, I felt like we could have won although there’s still room for improvement,” said varsity runner, Hugo Lopez.
